Welcome to the Mouse Latency Test Tool. We started this project with one simple question: "Is my mouse holding me back?"
In a world where split-second reactions matter—whether you're a competitive gamer aiming for a headshot, a creative professional making precise edits, or just someone who values a perfectly responsive computer—mouse latency is the invisible enemy. A delay of just a few milliseconds (ms) can be the difference between winning and losing, or between smooth work and constant frustration.
We realized many "latency tests" online were either too complicated, required downloads, or worse, weren't accurate.
My mission is to provide a **free, fast, and genuinely accurate** way for anyone to check their mouse input lag and click delay. This tool is designed to be simple:
This tool was built and is maintained by me, **Deepak Singh**.
As a developer and a tech enthusiast (and yes, a gamer), I've always been obsessed with performance. I was tired of not knowing if my "fast" gaming mouse was truly fast, or if my wireless setup was adding noticeable lag. I built this tool first for myself, ensuring it used the most accurate web technology available (the `performance.now()` high-resolution timer) to measure the real processing time between a physical "mousedown" and the browser's "click" event.
My goal is to keep this tool 100% free and make it the most reliable first stop for anyone diagnosing input lag.
Accuracy is our top priority. This tool doesn't just *guess*. It measures the precise time difference between the `mousedown` event (when your computer first detects the physical button press) and the `click` event (when the browser confirms the action). This specific measurement helps identify processing lag and browser-level delays.
This project is actively maintained. If you have any suggestions, questions, or just want to share your results, please feel free to contact me.
